U10, week #3 (1/26)

27 Jan 2022 by Charlotte Horovitz

Hello,
Brrrr… another very cold practice last evening, but huge kudos to all the athletes for braving the cold and our drills! We split the group up and continued on our progression, introducing the thumper drill and the thousand steps drill (very similar). Both to encourage using pressure to carve turns and to help find their outside ski as the dominant ski.

As more hill space becomes available, we will continue to use both these drills throughout the season.
We finished practice by skiing through 2 short stubby courses, and we are beginning to see some much nicer form and turns, yay!!
Keep up the great work and fingers super crossed for lots of snow in the next couple of days!
Stay well and see you all on Saturday.
Coach Charlotte and coach Kaczor
